Regeneration update
4 Jun 2019
Phase 1
The first phase of the regeneration of Dolphin House was completed by Purcell Construction in November 2018. Since then residents with a ‘Letter of Comfort’ who have opted to return have moved into their new homes. Dublin City Council meet residents in the adjacent blocks in January and February of this year to offer them remaining units in Phase I so the City Council could commence the de-tenanting of these blocks to allow for the next phase of construction. The allocations and moves into Phase I are now complete.
Phase 2 and Phase 3
Over the past number of months, the Dublin City Council architects’ department has been working on developing plans for the next phase of regeneration, including a revised Masterplan and block layouts and plans for Phase 2 and Phase 3.
At two community meetings last month Dublin City Council updated residents on the progress to date, including information regarding the design and planning process, a timeline for the next phases of the regeneration project and details in relation to future community facilities.
The City Council will be liaising with the Dolphin House & Dolphin Park Joint Regeneration Board and the Dolphin House Community Development Association over the coming few months concerning the details of their proposal and in response to feedback from the community.
It is expected that once this work is complete a full consultation process with residents will take place before plans are submitted for planning approval.
News on the new Dolphin Park Development
The 43 new homes currently being built by MDY Construction for residents of Dolphin Park will be completed early autumn. Fold Ireland who will manage the new development have commenced a process of tenancy workshops with residents which will take place over the next five weeks.
